Share the experience with friends!

On April 18th* invite friends, family members and colleagues to walk beside you in the 2010 MS Walk. Enjoy a fun and entertaining day. Walking together and making a difference in the lives of those living with MS will be a rewarding and meaningful experience.

Not sure how to engage your friends? Here are five tips:

• Use online communities like Facebook and Twitter to promote the MS Walk and ask friends to join you

• Include a message asking friends to join your team in your e-mail signature

• It's important to ASK, ASK, ASK! Ask your friends, family, neighbours and co-workers to recruit their family members and friends to join the team

• Build a pyramid. Ask each person who joins your team to recruit at least 3 other team members. If you start with only 3 team members, and they each recruit 3 more team members, and those people each recruit 3 new team members- you'll have 39 team members!

• Hold a kick-off lunch in the office as a fundraising and team building opportunity. Get other company departments or offices involved for a friendly competition

Every extra step in the MS Walk matters. Gather all of your friends and family to walk with you and share the fun, laughter and memories of the 2010 MS Walk!

* The MS Walk takes place in most communities on this day. Please click here to check the date of your community's MS Walk.

The MS Society Honours International Women's Day

March 8th marks International Women’s Day (IWD). Worldwide, this day celebrates the achievements of women throughout history and across nations. IWD honours mothers, sisters and daughters and we at the MS Society of Canada would like to take this opportunity to show our appreciation to women everywhere for your continued support and generosity. The first International Women’s Day started in 1911. Almost 100 years later we continue to recognize women and press for equality. Thank you to all the women who have volunteered their time, fundraised in support of a cure, and who have joined us in the fight to end MS.
