October is International Walk to School Month

Today marks the beginning of International Walk to School Month (IWALK), which was celebrated last year in over 40 countries around the world. Founded in Great Britain in 1994, the month aims to increase physical activity, raise concern for the environment and reduce traffic, noise and speed around schools.
You can find out how Ontarians can get involved with this month’s special events via SafeRoutesToSchool.ca, but why stop there? Keep walking throughout the year, students and non-students alike, and you’ll be more than ready for the 2013 MS Walk come May!
